Privacy policy

Updated October 18, 2026

absolutecinema.ai is run by Jarosław Boreyko, Poland ("we"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Write to us at privacy@absolutecinema.ai about anything on this page.

We collect as little as the site needs to work, and we never sell data or use it for advertising.

Reading the site

Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs (IP address, the address requested, browser, time) to run and protect the site. If you pick a language, we remember it in a cookie named ac-locale for one year. If you switch between light and dark, your browser remembers the choice in its local storage. Nothing else is stored on your device.

We count visits with PostHog, on its servers in the EU, in cookieless mode: no cookies and nothing in your browser's storage. PostHog tells visits apart with a hash it computes on its servers. We record the pages viewed and a few named actions in the calculator, such as a preset chosen, a setting changed, a file exported or a question sent (its length range and outcome only). We never record what you type, and we do not record sessions or screens.

The calculator

The calculator runs in your browser. The settings you choose stay in the page address, which is how a share link carries them.

When you download a PDF, your settings and the project title and "prepared for" text you typed are sent to our server to draw the file. We do not save them, but because the file is requested by a link, the host's request log may record that address for its usual retention.

Ask AI

When you send a question, it goes to our server and to Anthropic, the maker of Claude, which writes the answer. Anthropic is based in the United States.

We keep each question, the reply and the calculator settings the AI chose for 30 days, then they are deleted automatically. We keep them to find the answers that are wrong and fix them. Before a question is kept, email addresses and phone numbers in it are masked, and no IP address or visitor identifier is stored with it. Please do not type other personal or confidential details.

To cap free questions per visitor each day, and our own spending, we count questions against a one-way hash of your IP address combined with a secret key. That counter is deleted automatically after 2 days. Our server log keeps one line per question with its cost and outcome and a hash of the text, never the text itself.

Why we may do this

  • Answering your question: it is the service you ask for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Request logs, rate limits, cookieless visit counts and keeping questions for 30 days: our legitimate interests in running a secure, affordable site and improving its answers (Art. 6(1)(f)). You may object at any time.
  • The language cookie and the theme setting: they only remember a choice you made.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, a copy of it, its correction or deletion, a restriction of its use, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Write to privacy@absolutecinema.ai. A kept question is not linked to who asked it, so to find yours, tell us the day and its wording.

You can also complain to a data protection authority, in your country or ours. In Poland that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).

Children

The site is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
